The working principle of overflow valve

2024-01-16 09:18

The relief valve on the hydraulic station is a commonly used pressure control device, which is mainly used to adjust and limit the working pressure of the hydraulic system. Its working principle is as follows:

1. The relief valve is composed of valve body, valve core, spring and adjusting device. The valve body has inlet and outlet channels, as well as an overflow port.

2. When the working pressure of the hydraulic system exceeds the valve pressure set by the overflow valve, the spool is subjected to pressure and moves upward.

3. There is an overflow port on the valve core. When the valve core moves upward, the overflow port is inserted from the inlet channel of the valve body to form an overflow channel to allow the fluid in the hydraulic system to flow out.

4. When the overflow valve is opened, the flow through the overflow channel will exceed the maximum flow required by the system, thereby draining the excess fluid out to stabilize the pressure of the system.

5. When the system pressure returns to the valve pressure range set by the overflow valve, the spool is moved downward by the action of the spring.

6. After the spool drops, the overflow port exits from the inlet channel, closing the overflow channel to prevent the fluid from continuing to overflow.

Through this working principle, the relief valve can stably and reliably control the pressure of the hydraulic system to prevent the system pressure from being too high and damage the equipment. In the hydraulic station, the relief valve is usually used to adjust the outlet pressure of the hydraulic pump and limit the working pressure of each hydraulic actuator in the hydraulic system.
